The Opportunity: Business Development Associate

Are you a dynamic and competitive individual ready to make a significant impact? Join our team as a full-time Business Development Associate and play a crucial role in Actlabs’ growth in the mineral exploration industry. This is your opportunity to promote our industry-leading services and develop business in Northern Ontario and Quebec. This role will be based in Val-d’Or, Thunder Bay, Ontario, or Ancaster, Ontario.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and sell our services within the mineral exploration industry, fueling growth and innovation.
  • Engage with current and past clients, building relationships to generate new sales.
  • Research and identify potential clients, make initial contact, and effectively sell our services to expand our client base and drive growth.
  • Identify and attend high-impact trade shows and networking events.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure top-notch service delivery.
  • Provide quotes and prepare sales contracts.
  • Travel as needed to maintain and expand our client base.
  • Assist with client interpretation of geological and mineral requirements and validate order configurations.
  • Collaborate with our team to create compelling presentations and reports.
  • Deliver impactful presentations at technical conferences and directly to clients.

Being bilingual in English and French is a requirement that will enhance your ability to connect with our diverse clientele. If you are passionate about market research, lead generation, and effective communication with clients and stakeholders, we want you to be part of our team!


What you bring to the team:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in chemistry, geology, business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in business development, with experience in the mining/mineral industry preferred.
  • Communication skills: Fluency in French is required, and fluency in English is a strong asset.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in client acquisition through various methods such as phone calls, in-person meetings, and networking events.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
  • Expert problem-solving skills and the ability to create work plans for projects of all sizes.
  • Proficient in computer tools and a proactive, quality-driven approach.
  • Customer-focused mindset and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to complete projects.
